This book is a fantastic example of what I am loving about Scandinavian lit at this point in time. I was hesitant about it when a friend of mine recommended the book. 4.4 its a beautiful book full of atmosphere . You can almost hear the water in the nearby stream.
The end was a bit disappointing for me - i wondered how is he going to end it and was left with a bit of questions regarding the NOW of the story line.
Definitely recommended and ill definitely look for other books by Per Peterson.

If you have visited Norway, have friends or relatives there or if you have studied the norwegian resistance movement or have an interest in the social reconstruction of Europe following the second world war this book is for you.

A book about growing old in a new place; about dealing with the losses in your early years after choosing other paths which took you far away from those painful losses and memories.
