I found myself near tears when Achilles strayed from his kind self, my heart raced during the confrontation scenes and my mind marveled at the love Patroclus and Achilles shared. This whole book contained quotes worth remembering and Miller did a wonderful job of wrapping it very poetically at the end.

I am a huge fan of books based on Egyptian mythology and thanks to Madeline Miller's The Song Of Achilles, I am sucked into Greek mythology as well. Patroclus, the trusted companion (and lover) of Achilles narrates the story and through his eyes the demi-god-hero seems so humane with a warm heart. I would also highly recommend the audio book narrated by Frazer Douglas. His voice as Patroclus is beyond beautiful. Enjoyed this, very readable. The only thing that marred it a little for me was that seen through the eyes of love, the story of Achilles and Patroclus seems a little too forgiving, a little too kind to their characters.
