Onsozunun bu kadar etkileyici olduğu bir roman okumamistim. Yönetimdeki ikiyüzlülüklerini eleştiren, ceza yasasınin ele alınma bicimini protesto eden Victor Hugo'nun 26 yaşında, 1832 yılında kaleme aldigi bir eser. Günümüzdeki ceza yasasına "emsal" olacak ornekleri ve tasvirleri var.

İnsanın gündelik hayatın telaşında çok da aklına getirmediği ani ölüm fikrini bu kitap oldukça derinden hissettiriyor. Karakterle birlikte ben de giyotine gidiyormuş gibi bir çaresizlik hissederek okudum kitabı.
“Ya öldürdüğünüz bu insan, aileden, ana babadan ve aileden yoksunsa? Bu koşullar yüzünden hiç eğitim alamamış, ruhu ve kalbi için kimseden ihtimam görmemişse? O zaman hangi hakla bu yetimi öldürüyorsunuz? Bir dayanağı olmayıp sokaklarda sürünerek geçirdiği çocukluk yüzünden bir insanı cezalandırıyorsunuz. Onu yalnızlığa terk ederek talihsizliği yüzünden suçluyorsunuz. Kimse ona ne yapması gerektiğini öğretmemiş. Bu insan cahil ve suçu da böyle bir kadere sahip olmak. Siz bir masuma kıyıyorsunuz.

Since it is always on top list and have a high score, i wanted to have a VHugo experience. I don't know if it was the right book to start but i may say i was not charmed by him. It is quite dark but on the contrary it is weak to give the feeling to reader. Anyway, it worthed reading.
