Sometimes you realize while reading a book that you either should have read it before or are happy to be reading it after another. In this case, I'm glad I just read Robinson Crusoe right before this, as there does seem to be some reply to it within the themes. Both are long narratives from the viewpoint of the "shipwrecked" person changing throughout the book, with one "shipwrecked" alone (as Crusoe was) and the other within a previously unknown nation (as Gulliver is.)
