Thus, ends my Odyssey with David Copperfield, started about 5 years ago.
In my opinion, Dickens introduced here one of the most beloved boys in literature, the others being Remi from Sans famille and Cedric from Little Lord Fauntleroy.

No, I give up! Life is too short to struggle with this.
Update: Trying to finish with audio book.
I can't believe I'm doing this, but I can't finish this one. This is the most beautifully written and great book, but I can't finish it. I read about 60% of the book during 2 years. My problem is... I saw the film. Of course there are so many books in which case I saw the movie first but I don't know what is different with this one. I loved TV series when I was little. The character of Copperfield was ...more

As Dickens himself says "I do not find it easy to get sufficiently far away from this book." I loved the characters, I loved the story, I loved the redemption that is a common theme in Dickens's work. I will miss being enveloped in the world of David Copperfield.

What a story!! I love the way Charles Dickens' books allow you to have such a close relationship with so many characters. This book is my favorite so far because it didn't just end all of a sudden. He gave an account of what happenend to everyone, and for the most part it was a happy ending. One of my favorite charecters was the 'dim witted' Dora. She was fabolously ditsy.
