While there were moments that I really appreciated the writing of St. Augustine, I found this book so very tedious to finish! His conversion story was fascinating, but I struggled with his rhetoric and long philosophical lectures. I was hoping for some enlightenment, but in the end felt that he really gave me no reason to feel that the conclusions he had reached concerning God and religion were good and based on anything but his own interpretation of scripture.
