This espionage thriller, set in WWII Cairo, was absolutely adrenaline-charged. Having read Follett as a writer of historical sagas, this genre was a surprise to me. I enjoyed it thoroughly, rooting for Major William Vandam and Elene Fontana, the two heroes. And booed Alex Wolff who was stealing British battle plans with the help of his friend, the famous belly dancer Sonja.

Some of the cheesiest sex scenes I have ever read. The story wasn't bad but not nearly as good as anything else I've read by him. ...more
