I thought the narration on this audiobook was very good and really added to the story. A variety of readers was used, not just one. Found the story more like able than Gone Girl. While there is cursing and bloodshed and other situations that are horrific and will keep you from listening to this out loud with others in the room, I had to keep reaching for my earphones as I wanted to know the outcome of the story and Libby's fate.

It is no wonder this author won a dagger award. Her books are tightly written and out of the ordinary mysteries. This is the followup to Sharp Objects and has all of her trademark style

Libby Days mother and two sisters were murdered when she was seven and Libby was primarily responsible for sending her brother Ben to jail for the murders. Libby needs money so she agrees to interview people connected to the murder to find out if someone other than Ben committed the crimes in exchange for cash. The book alternates between Libby in the present and Ben and the mother Patty's actions on the day of the murder. A good dark mystery. I just found most of the characters really unlikable ...more
