Most of us just can’t travel to Paris every summer.
This would be a sad thing, a tragic thing, really, if it weren’t for marvelous books like these that take us to Paris anyway, saving us $1213 (price of an airline ticket to Paris minus the cost of this book) and sixteen hours on plane.
Paris in Love is a book with tiny, tiny stories, some mere paragraphs, about the year she and her family spent in Paris.

I bought this the other day on Kindle when it was something like $1 (some amazing deals on Kindle lately, btw), because Paris! The writing is exquisite but it's one of those books that I cannot image existed before the digital age. Essentially just a series of gorgeous Facebook updates. This Shakespeare professor turned Parisian writes a volumn that is light, airy enjoyment but I wouldn't even purchase in paperback, honestly.

I was so excited to get this book - I love Eloisa James' romance novels, and I've loved all the excerpts I read from this book. But ... the book is nothing BUT excerpts. It is literally a series of Facebook status updates. Maybe it gets better as you go along, I don't know. I wasn't in the mood for this sort of thing at the time.

I was on the beach when I read this -- a good place for this one. Funny, enjoyable, and really good if you love Paris. Somewhat lacking in depth, but really lighthearted and pleasant.
