I rarely rate books I don't finish. Only if I'm certain I never will. I tried to like this one. I really did. But according to my 50 page rule, I really was barely interested. I didn't like the characters, and honestly didn't even know what the problem being set up was -- the mysterious death from the prologue? Maggie Hope was born in England but raised in the U.S. by her aunt. After inheriting her grandmother's house she returns to England just in time for WWII. After one of Churchill's secretaries is murdered a friend suggests Maggie for the position. Maggie is an expert on cryptology and math but she agrees to the position to help the war effort. Just plain awful. So many errors. Edward VII was not Duke of Windsor--that was his Grandson, Edward VIII. Story isn't too bad if you can ignore all the "pip, pip, what old boy" type speech.
