The third in the Longmire series following Walt Longmire sees Walt and Henry Standing Bear in Philadelphia, home land of Walt's deputy Vic the Terror and her extended Morretti clan as well as Walt's daughter Cady. Henry is exhibiting some treasured old photos and Walt is meeting Cady's new boyfriend. Shelves: mystery, east-coast

Johnson inverts the usual family-member-in-peril formula here to good effect, which ultimately sets up an interesting and creative mystery as Longmire untangles the various threads. It's a shame that the cover art for this one is so terrible, though - it doesn't have the same visual appeal as the others in the series. ...more
