This book feels like a long short story and is easily read in one sitting. In it the 14 year old boy (who has such difficulties with human relationships that you fear for him as an adult)gets to know his junkie half-sister, and the shared secrets between them bring them closer. And during this time he begins to show some connection with her. The books probably ends in the only way that it could, in spite of the ray of hope at their parting.
