Lately I have been reading in G major, and this book is written in D# minor! (small in-joke for those who have read it) It is challenging, confusing, exhausting and inaccesible, yet somehow strangely compelling. I wondered at various times if it was the translation, or perhaps you have to be Danish to really "get" this book, but I think that is only part of the answer.
