It has everything I love...books, relationships, Paris...and I liked it, but I didn't love it.
It started out fantastically.

I understand why some readers, especially those who did not finish this book, gave it such a low rating, because it is kind of slow going and frustrating, especially for the first 3/4 of the book or so. I wasn’t too crazy about the characters and was tempted to give up on the story but then . . . quite close to the end, things became clearer and the various reflections on relationships and loss and writing were interesting.

Started out as an interesting psychological mystery but by the end I was so tired of the touristy Paris references. Also, the "artistic" husband reminded me too much of self absorbed jerks in MFA programs. Second "book fail" in a week for me.
