Henry Jones' family has a bookshop, and one part of the shop has a place where people can write notes in the books. Rachel leaves a note for Henry, sharing her feelings for him, but he never replies. The story is a series of romantic misadventures that makes for a fun read.

Rachel and Henry have been best friends for most of their lives until Rachel and her family move away in early high school. While she is gone, her brother Cal dies. She moves back after several years, but doesn't tell anyone what happened to her brother. Rachel gets a job at Henry's family's used bookstore and she and Henry reconnect. The book is a story of love and grief.

The overall vibe is a mash up of The Fault in our Stars and Gilmore Girls. In Australia. Very YA.
Too much profanity and sometimes predictable. I thought the book references would annoy me, but it actually wasn't too bad, even though I hadn't read most of the books. I especially liked the T.S. Eliot shout out. Honestly, this rating should probably be just 3 stars, but I'm giving it extra because I just liked it! And that counts for something in my reviews.
