This book is a murder mystery centered around Tina, a teenage Congolese refugee who is living in Kenya. Her mom was murdered in the house of the wealthy Kenyan family where she worked as a maid and Tina then becomes heavily involved with a local gang, working to avenge the death of her mother. In the process she begins to uncover secrets about her mother's life and death and confronts many dangers along the way.
