I started this book on Friday afternoon and finished it Sunday morning. I couldn't put it down. It was, in a way, addictive like a good book can tend to be. It was funny, extremely easy to read and relate to. I love hearing about Kelly's life in Kelly's words because she certainly has a way with words. I would have given it 5 stars if she had spent some more time reflecting rather than telling. She gives us a glimpse at her ability to do this well in her essay "Transcending" which is included at ...more

I first heard about this book on a YouTube video. The author was reading a wonderful excerpt from her book on the video, all about the wonderful support women give each other during the tough times every woman will face. Well, Kelly Corrigan didn't let me down. I absolutely loved it. It was real, funny, heartbreaking, and uplifting. She is a great writer, and she captures the essence of this generation (of which I am a part) flawlessly. I cannot watch

This book was recommended to me a long time ago by a dear friend, Ro, when my mom was diagnosed with cancer. And, I couldn't bring myself to read it until now, when the cancer has come back.

I dreaded reading it because I thought it would break me into a million emotional pieces. And, instead of poking my tender places with a hot stick, this book made me feel hopeful and wistful and so grateful that the author would share that incredible father-daughter love with us. Cancer was just an incidental

I read this in a day. Very moving story of author's experience with breast cancer but also about her family coming together and her relationships. Found myself talking with Kayla about some of the stories she tells in the book about growing up. ...more
