Annie and Julia grew up together in the same house, almost like sisters. Almost, but not quite. Julia’s parents owned the house the two lived in and employed Annie’s mother as the housekeeper. I picked this book up on a vacation and started it with low expectations. The title really helped; I mean who wouldn’t want to know about how to eat a cupcake on their vacation!
There are so many themes in the book and when you think there’s a finale to the theme. Another one just pops up! This kept me reading and I finished it in two sittings.

sometimes a book hits me right - this was one of those times. There is nothing pretentious or deep about it, but the storyline grabbed me and held me to the end. Meg's writing style reminds me of Marisa de los Campos. Definitely a feel good type of read.

This is an excellent story about two women who were once friends until one betrayed the other and ruined her life. Now they have to decide if they can get through their horrible past relationship to share ownership in a cupcake bakery.
