What Members Thought
While this is found in the young adult section, the dense descriptions of the very close-knit Jewish community in New York can be hard to penetrate for a young reader with a short attention span. I found it fascinating and frightening - when I first skimmed through the blurb, I came away with the (mistaken) impression that it was a cult that was being described... but in reality, this book has more in common with Chaim Potok's loving yet anguished depiction of Jews in New York.
