High quality, absorbing page-turning, weird twisty stuff. In other words: solid Moriarty. I could depend on this to see me through a very stressful 24 hours. The hypnotist's métier is explored and used in a really interesting way. There is an intriguing dual-pov structure that has an unexpected reveal about 1/4 of the way in; it switches between first person and third person so is easy to track. Another wonderful read by Moriarty, filled with interesting & engaging characters. As she often does, the author writes from two different perspectives, giving the reader a more 360-view of the goings-on in the lives of the main characters. Borrowed as an ebook from our US library system; I didn't manage to get it finished the first time around and had to wait for the book to come off "Hold" to finish it.
