Firegirl is a very touching book about a girl who survives and a deadly incident and her body is severely burned. She attends school and is faced with the fears of middle schoolers who shun her and stare at her. I was captivated by Tom the narrator and his story. In the end, I cried with compassion and my faith in humanity was restored.
