This book is like that old friend who is usually fun to be with, but sometimes bores you to tears with the same old stories she's told a zillion times before. The first half of this book I was skimming the text, skipping whole paragraphs. Yes, yes, we KNOW he had a rift with his father and stubbornly wants to earn his own way in the world.
