Flavia de Luce books are treats. They involve a very smart and likeable young girl, a slower paced era, the English countryside, and they are well written and are as well spoken as their protagonist. This one, for an extra treat, is set at Christmas time. I adore Flavia, and Entwistle does such a spectacular job of giving her voice (as well as all of the other inhabitants of Bradley's work) - it's hard for me to hear her in my mind any other way. This is a rare seasonal entry in a series that can stand on its own merits, and I continue to admire how well Bradley develops and deepens the relationships between the recurring characters with each new installment. A bang-up series well worth watching into the future.

Always love Flavia, especially if the adventure was set in Christmas time in Buckshaw. I read that Alan Bradley would end the series in the sixth book. What a pity =(
