Reading the series in order. The first first three were solid four stars. This one gets three. No details because I don’t write spoilers. It was good, kept me interested but I wasn’t enthusiastic. My favorite character is Jakob. For some reason, I picture him looking like Hagrid. Most of the rest of the characters just seem like extras to me.

Unlike the other installments in the series, this one seemed to drag on forever. There was a lot of redundancy in the text. Between the characters constant bickering and stubbornness, and the endless repetition of minute details of life in the 16th century, the story got a bit lost.
