What Members Thought
My first foray into this series, and while the elements seem promising the execution leaves something to be desired. I think Arruda tries a bit too hard to make Jade better than her times by giving her a modern sensibility on sensitive issues of sex and race, which is jarring to me. I realize that it's more palatable to modern tastes, but it makes Jade come off as something like a Mary-Sue sort of caricature.
