I don't know what it is with the Orange Prize--I feel like I should love anything that gets nominated but it seems to be working out to the complete opposite of that. ...more

What if Africa had colonized and enslaved Europe rather than vice versa. It brings an interesting focus to the way that people decide what is "right" and " natural." Other than the cultural switches (i.e., straight hair is "ugly" ) this is a moving story of enslavement and escape.
