A long-distance love letter affair between Franz Kafka and Milena Jesenská. Sadly none of Milena's letters to Franz survived; is it because Max Brod followed her request to burn them? This is my first time reading Kafka. I really enjoyed his sense of care, related to his anxiety, appreciated his humor, like the running joke that personifies the toss-able wardrobe in Milena's bedroom. Loved Milena's essay on marriage + "happiness" at the end. Um, maybe a lengthier review later. ...more
