Interesting but bit over-blown view of what the reality in china is.
However, one aspect made listening to this audiobook a gritting experience was the reader was a non-Chinese speaker and butchers every Chinese word in the book - names, places, etc. to the point that my teeth clinched at least once or twice every couple of minutes.
