Assigned reading for my sons in junior high. They raved about it so much (and, at that age, these boys weren't raving about much in the way of books) that I read it. A powerful story. A must-read. ...more

Having read Ender's Game after The Hunger Games trilogy, I can't help comparing the two. They both have the addictive storytelling and a flawed character you root for anyway because the odds are SO stacked against him.

But, I have to say, I found the violence in Ender's Game much more disturbing than the violence in The Hunger Games. Maybe because the children were younger? Maybe because they knew each other and still hated each other enough to want to kill? Maybe because the adults who had the

This book could have been where Hunger Games got it's start.
I'm not huge on science fiction - kept my interest.

Interesting sci-fi read with some pretty complex moral issues about childhood, innocence, violence, genocide and the justification of war. I'm feeling very ambivalent about Ender and how the book ended. Looking forward to the movie in 2013. It has the potential of generating even more controversy than the Hunger Games movie.... ...more
