Ok, maybe because I read this book not long after I read the Tinker-Tailor, the tone is so familiar- even though the theme is a bit different (this is about serial killers instead of spy), but the twist and setting feels the same. I don't really like the S&M details about the murders though.. and for me the ending is a bit stale. I don't know. Just not in the mood.
