Rowan Tripp is the daughter of renown smoke jumper Lucas "Iron Man" Tripp and is a good smoke jumper herself. Her one rule is to never become involved with another jumper which lasts until rookie Gulliver Curry comes along. There is also some drama when the camp cook blames Rowan for her lovers death last year and then ends up being murdered. The mystery part of the book was pretty easy to figure out. The information about working as a forest fire fighter was interesting, but the romance angle as so drawn out... it could havw benefitted from some serious editing.

Not the lighthearted romance I had been looking for, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. It was am amazing foray into the lives of fire jumpers. Definitely not the job for me. (:
