What an excellent romance/mystery/people story! It is a good beginning to this series. The plot involves a widowed small-town sheriff who meets an old friend when his dog finds a human bone on the beach. There are several mysteries happening at the same time: the bone from the beach, the unsolved killing of her policeman father, and a shooting at a town celebration.
