This is a nice young adult book that offers ordinariness of plot (what a relief), those childhood adventures when kids used to go out for the day exploring with their companions, and a touch of family and history. Tween-age cousins discover an old-fashioned summer community which appears to have "gone away" at some point in time. They find a guide to their adventures in the only residents who remain.
