This one, for me, was puketastic, and gag-me unrealistic. The author is a woman, and writes men just like women. I have never met or even heard of a man who would behave like David. And thank God, because no one would be able to stomach him.

This book is excellent. Set in the format of letters sent and received, it tells the story of two generations, one involved in World War I and the second in World War II. It was a compelling story of what happens when people fall in love in difficult circumstances, and has the reader turning pages very quickly to find out what happened to both sets of people. My current audio pick and I AM enjoying it! (Helps that it says the author lives in Indiana now!). It is BEAUTIFULLY written, the characters are REAL and VIVID as is the life they lead. The emotions conveyed are real, too--at least to me. I understand them. I was a bit dumbfounded that the author has a Scot question how a man can fight in a kilt! What else have they EVER fought in??
