I gotta say I really enjoyed this book. I'd never read Klosterman's work before besides a few journalistic pieces in Grantland. I came across Downtown Owl while meandering through a used bookstore. I began to casually read the first chapter and was immediately hooked by Klosterman's breezy and clever writing style. Klosterman's cast of characters is quirky and drags you in to the small town life of Owl, North Dakota and then destroys you just like small town life. The book is also a fantastic slice of life in the early 80s.

A small town girl can really relate to some of the happenings in this story! I thought it was a pretty good read.
