I really enjoyed this fast paced thriller with so many interesting and likable characters. And then there’s the ones you suspect of the foul play and murders.
So hard to put down and the narrator is one of my male faves: Gerard Doyle.

Crombie always manages to insert some education on an interesting subject into each of her mysteries and this is no exception. In fact though the main focus is on rowing as a competitve sport she gives a small nod to search and rescue dogs. I love anything with sensible information about dogs in it. She also as usual crafts an exquisite mystery.

One of the best long-running series in mystery, particularly because Crombie does such a nice job of centering her plots around the emotional relationships between characters. She also wears her research lightly, which is a plus - she sheds enough light to make the key points on her subject (rowing, in this outing) accessible to the layman without leaving the reader feeling as if they've blundered into a book report by mistake.
