I started this autobiography a long time ago hoping to get some insight into Sartre's existentialist philosophies. The first half of the book was interesting, detailing his early years in an engrossing manner. Unfortunately, the later pages consist of an interminable and incomprehensible egotistical tirade, or so it seemed to me. Of course, it could all have been simply beyond my comprehension; suffice it to say that I was very happy to put this one down as having been read.
