This is a cozy mystery series with more depth than the typical cozy. There are many recurring characters I'm looking forward to learning more about, and there is always humor to lighten the grim moments of a murder investigation.

Third in this series. The saga of agents Nichol and Lemieux continues and wraps up. Nice on-going subplot that started in book 1.
Not my favorite in this series. I loved it until the last 50 pages or so and then the eternal ending turned me off. I really enjoyed the first two books, so I'll keep reading.

Very enjoyable mystery series.
This is my third Armand Gamache book and I really should give it three and a half stars. As always, some things i really liked and some things were tedious. For some reason the town seemed claustrophobic to me as well as charming. And yet I love the descriptions of the coffee, the meals, and the drinks that are part of every gathering. Audiobook. I just love this series and this narrator, these people and Three Pines, more and more with each return.
