This - a novel with elements of a fantasy/paranormal romance - is the kind of YA book I normally shun but, what the heck, it was only $1.99 on kindle and there are all these the four- and five-star reviews on Goodreads, even from people whose reviews I am following.

Susan Ee does an amazing job at bringing her characters and settings to life. This is definitely a book that I will be reading again.
