What Members Thought
I selected this book because of the author Rosemary Wells. Having young grandchildren, I am very familiar with her Max and Ruby series of books for children. I was quite pleased with this book. It is the story of the Civil War told from the point of view of a 12 year old girl India. Her father goes off to war and is killed, her mother and other members of her family die and she is left to eke out a living with friends and family members.
