I enjoyed this first book in a cozy mystery series set in Kauai, Hawaii. Em Johnson at a low point in her life is offered a chance to start over helping her uncle run the Tiki Goddess, a bar on the North Shore of Kauai. Of course I love the location, but I also loved the quirky characters, that are really funny. Oh, and there is a murder mystery as well.

Loved it - 4.5 stars! I've read and enjoyed several cozy mysteries lately and this one really stands out in the genre. I loved the setting on the non-touristy side of Kauai, loved Em, Sophie, Roland, and Uncle Louie and his macaw David Letterman. The Hula Maidens made the book and were a stitch and a half! The mystery was pretty good, but it's the humor and the characters that made this a stand out for me. I can't wait to read the next in this series!!

Enjoyable cozy set in paradise. a group of misfits star in this book. The descriptions of Kauai and the tropical venue is a fun read. This cozy is a bit edgier than most with some Marijuana references and some nudity detailed. The mystery was intriguing and I liked how the story incorporated Hawaiian language and customs
I’m will continue to read the series.
