An incredible battle through the view of those who were there. All angles are covered and there is nothing to dislike with this read. The new generation of kids should read these books to understand what they did for our freedoms. We're all too comfortable slowing taking away our own rights and freedoms - we need to remember how valuable each and everyone of them is. What was sacrificed for them. ...more

I am visiting Normandy, France next month, so I read this book in preparation for my trip. It was an excellent history of the preparations, execution, and experiences related to D-Day, the largest amphibious attack ever. “Operation Overlord” was it’s official name during planning and involved 156,115 American, British and Canadian troops. It required incredible bravery and there was a heavy death toll, especially in the first waves. This book was very informative and kept my interest. Now I feel ...more
