I think this is possibly my all-time favorite book for this age group. It's a wonderful, modern day tale of four sisters and their adventurous summer vacation. However, despite the fact that it's set in present day, it feels absolutely timeless. Many thanks to my Random House rep for sending it to me. I can't wait to start the follow up! ...more

The Penderwicks is a gentle family story with a classic feel, despite its recent publication date. The audiobook was very well done - despite having several main characters, each voice was differentiated enough so as not to be confusing. This is perfect for kids who have outgrown Clementine and Ramona.
