What Members Thought
The author, Robert Hellenga, was described in the Chicago Tribune as "having the ability to product novels that are smart and intellectually engaging while at the same time emotionally compelling". That is so true with this novel about a church involved with 'snake handling', a few church members and some people involved with them. This book was fascinating, educational and absolutely delightful.
