I liked the idea of the plot and enjoyed the descriptions of the temples, the cities, the people. However I felt the story got bogged down with the main characters each having their own intentions, trying to deceive each other, going round and round the same conversations.
A bit disappointing really.

Eh. Another one of these really colonial books that runs into my (in)ability to detect what is and isn't supposed to be ironic. I read it on the plane.
