What Members Thought
I liked this book more than Sharp Objects (it was even darker material, no pun intended) but it was a great mystery/crime/thriller and the character development was awesome. This is Gillian Flynn's second book and it seems like her work just gets better the more books she writes (Gone Girl was her 3rd work and I loved that one). I definitely suggest reading them in order because I felt like Dark Places was even better and you would probably enjoy it more seeing how her character development just

Awful people doing awful things, and yet the writing is so compelling that I couldn’t set the book aside. I had to know what really happened on that freezing cold night in January. (I guessed at a partial answer but the ending was still shocking.)
Since I read Gone Girl I was expecting some twists. I would never have guessed them! Kept me interested-quick read.
Well written, but so relentlessly bleak and depressing (perhaps the title should have been warning enough?).
