A particularly dark Oprah selection.
The language alone is a reward for reading this book. Incest, anger, betrayal. American dreams and dissapointments. O'Dell tells the story of these children, forced to become adults without much guidance or support. As a reader you empathize, you are disgusted and you want to jump into the book and save them.
