I've loved John Waters's writing since someone gave me a copy of "Crackpot" in the early 1990's. He is someone who truly embodies the principle of "write what you know." Role Models gives us a Waters, maybe not mellowed with age exactly, but perhaps more insightful with regard to his fascination with the offbeat, the outrageous, and the extreme.
