Another winning entry in the Stephanie Plum series, this story continues Stephanie's attempts to make a living as a bond enforcer, and includes the regular cast of characters: Lulu, Grandma Mazur, Vinnie, Connie, and of course, the hot and delectable duo, Morelli and Ranger. These books have become kind of rote, but yet still enjoyable. Actually, I think this one was better than the last few. Or maybe I've just lowered my expectations.

Stephanie has an "understanding" with Morelli. Frankly, after all this time, I no longer understand her inability to choose one over the other, nor do I understand Morelli's and Ranger's willingness to put up with her vacillations. This was actually better plotted than the new Margaret Maron, which is disappointing on a variety of levels, but it was really good.
