One of my favorite books - every time I read it, I start to weep.
What a brave woman! Alia Muhammad Baker is a hero. While I am sad that the war happened, I am inspired by her courage to take action, especially as a female and without the support of the government. I love the simple writing and message that determination can make a difference. I hope lots of copies of this book are sold so that the Basra Central Library book collection can be rebuilt.
